Wonder Lights Christmas windows return to Tunbridge Wells

Wonder Lights Christmas windows return to Tunbridge Wells
HEART OF GLASS: One of the creations from the first Wonder Lights event

The community window-dressing initiative was launched across the St John’s area last year with more than 50 houses taking part.

Organiser Mat Waugh hopes that even more households across Tunbridge Wells will take the opportunity to light up their front windows with creative displays.

“I was blown away last year by the effort that people had made – we had underwater scenes, a Love Hearts tribute, animated cityscapes and more,” he said.

“But sometimes the simplest displays were the most effective, like a beautifully lit painting or a row of candles.”

Mat added: “There’s a domino effect, so when one house in a road joins in, others follow. All you need is a front window and a little imagination.”

Participation is free and simple to announce: Households add themselves to the online Wonder Lights map to help others discover their display.

Dozens of houses are already signed up to illuminate their window between 5pm and 8pm.
