Nifty navigators took to Penshurst Place at the weekend as they launched a new design for the stately home’s Maize Maze.
The reimagined leafy labyrinth has been cut in the shape of the ancient Sidney Oak tree that has been standing on the estate for around 1,000 years.
Despite its millennia of existence, the oak has recently self-seeded a new sapling to take over its watch of the house.
The maze features two routes to unravel, a short ten-minute one for younger visitors and a more challenging option for intrepid explorers.
To put parents’ minds at ease, flags are available in case a rescue is needed.
