Top marks for Hilden Oaks in Tonbridge

HILDEN OAKS School and Nursery in Tonbridge are celebrating an inspection by the Independent Schools Inspectorate [ISI] – the private sector’s equivalent of Ofsted – which rated the school as ‘excellent’ in all areas and  ‘outstanding’ for the under-twos provision.

The ISI report noted: “The overall effectiveness of the early years provision is outstanding. Staff demonstrate commitment to delivering the best possible care and learning for the children, treating each child as an individual.”

It continued: “The quality of pupils’ academic and other achievements is excellent. Pre-prep and prep pupils make significant progress and attain very highly, particularly in English, Mathematics, Science and PE.”

Headmistress Katy Joiner said: “I am absolutely delighted with this outcome, and particularly pleased that the inspector’s report highlights how successful we have been at continuing our drive to achieve the highest academic standards at the same time as protecting the family-centred ethos, which makes Hilden Oaks such a wonderful school.”

The children in Year 6 added their comments, saying: ‘The report reflects the brilliance of the school perfectly’, ‘The school is very good and makes me feel safe’, ‘Hilden Oaks feels like my second home’, ‘The teachers are very supportive and helpful’ and ‘I’m very happy that we got such a fantastic report from the inspectors’.
