A TONBRIDGE drop-in centre which supports people who feel lonely or anxious has been given a helping hand by members of the Volunteer Police Cadets.Â
The teenagers helped tidy a community allotment on Waveney Road, which will now be used by the Listening Ear.
They were helped by local PCSOs and members of the Trench Partnership, which runs the Listening Ear.Â
PCSO Linda Baker said: “The Listening Ear is an important local resource aimed at helping people with their general well-being, and the cadets were determined to do their bit to help this worthy cause.Â
“They have worked tirelessly to dig over these allotments, which will now be used to help teach users how to grow their own fruit and vegetables.”
The Volunteer Police Cadets scheme for young people aged 13 to 17 started last year, and is supported by Kent Police.Â
The cadets are able to gain qualifications, enhance their personal skills and support community policing.
