THE British Heart Foundation’s (BHF) Tonbridge shop is celebrating its 30th birthday – with a volunteer who has worked there since it opened in 1988.

Gladys Adams was awarded a special certificate and badge in recognition of three decades of service  to the charity.

One of her colleagues, Marion Batchelor, was also rewarded for her 25 years working at the town’s shop, which is located at 72 High Street.

Area Manager June Tumilty said: “We’ve enjoyed a fantastic 30 years of business in the Tonbridge shop.

“I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all our loyal customers and volunteers who really make this shop special and help the BHF fund our lifesaving research. We are looking forward to welcoming even more customers to the shop and making the next 30 years just as successful.”
