Tonbridge Calling raises its voice for four local charities

COMMUNITY event Tonbridge Calling has raised £600 from its summer TC17 free music festival, which will be split between four local charities.

The second staging of the event sees proceeds going to Nourish Community Foodbank, Tonbridge Welcomes Refugees, The School Bus Project – which aims to protect the right to education for refugees and vulnerable migrants across Europe – and the homeless charity Porchlight.

Organiser Sophie Quinnel said: “We believe each of these organisations are perfectly aligned to our ethos of building communities without barriers.”

She added: “We wish to thank the residents of Tonbridge for their continued support, the bands for performing free, the food and drink vendors who contributed to our funds, and the wonderful 40 volunteers who ensured a peaceful fun event.”

Next year’s TC18 will be held on August 4. For information, contact: tonbridgecalling@gmail.com
