Businesses in St John’s Road are aiming to attract families to their retail outlets over the Christmas period with the ‘St John’s Window Wonderland’.

A secret group of businesses are hiding St John the Christmas bear in their shop window displays over a five-week period.

Children are invited to follow a quiz trail leading them around the participating businesses to find the bears and collect stickers.

An awards ceremony will take place at Glazy Daisy, the paint-your-own ceramics and craft studio on St John’s Road, on Wednesday December 21.

Families who took part in the Window Wonderland are invited to book in at Glazy Daisy’s for fun activities with the chance to win prizes.

These have been donated by participating stores and local businesses in the town including Mum’s the Word Events, Trinity Theatre and Story Sock children’s classes.

The sponsors St John’s Independents are aiming raise awareness and donations for the Tree of Hope charity’s Tristan’s Fund.

Tristan, whose mother Nadine previously worked in the St John’s area as a specialist nurse, was born with spastic dyplegia, a type of cerebral palsy.

Tree of Hope supports families who are raising money to pay for life-changing treatments and therapies that are not freely available through the NHS.

The Kent-based Charity are currently raising funds to pay for an operation which could see Tristan gain the use of his legs.

Quiz sheets can be downloaded at www.tunbridgewellskidsonthego.co.uk, www.mytunbridgewells.com and www.peasinapod.org.uk.

They can also be picked up from participating stores along St John’s Road, which will feature a red bear poster in their shop windows.
