LOCAL charity Taylor Made Dreams is holding a Wacky Onesie Day on Friday April 27 to raise funds for its projects, which enable children with life-limiting illnesses to fulfil their wishes.
Suzi Mitchell, founder of Taylor Made Dreams, wants the event to become an annual fixture. She said: “We are inviting all individuals, nurseries, schools, universities, corporates and community groups to take part in the Wacky Onesie Day.”
Suzi set up the charity in 2014 following the death of her teenage son, Taylor. It helps to create a bucket list designed to meet the specific needs and desires of children with critical illnesses.
This enables children and their families to spend quality time together that might not be possible without financial or emotional support. It also sources and helps to pay for therapeutic services.
One of the charity’s main sponsors, the Tunbridge Wells online children’s clothing company Childrensalon, recently held a photoshoot for a terminally-ill eight-year-old girl called Olivia.
She suffers from a type of cancer called Wilms’ Tumor, which attacks the kidneys. Taylor Made Dreams fulfilled her wish to be a princess, in the company of her brother Toran and mother Brooke.
A minimum donation of £1 per person is suggested, and can be made to the Taylor Made Dreams online fundraising platforms on Virgin Money Giving, BTDonate or JustGiving.
Ms Mitchell added: “We want people to use the hashtag #TMDWackyOnesieDay on their social media sites, post their photos and tag us in.”

The event has been set up in partnership with Childrensalon. “They came up with the Onesie Day, we just added the Wacky,” said Ms Mitchell. “And they were the first to take on the challenge. It’s amazing corporate support.”
