Sky's the limit for Millbrook in support of Air Ambulance

IN THEIR first year supporting the Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance, Millbrook Garden Centres in Staplehurst and Crowborough have helped to raise more than £11,000 for the local charity.

The company, which also has a branch in Gravesend, held charity festive evenings, donated money from their bag charges, held a raffle and completed a 60-mile walk to amass the funds.

The festive evenings included various games which were set up for customers to win discounts on their shopping for a donation of 50p.

Contests included a human fruit machine game, reindeer hoopla, hook a bauble and a festive pitch and putt.

Millbrook’s Brand Manager, Liz Dowling, said: “We have held a charity festive evening for as long as we can remember, but this year it took on a new dimension as we sought to attract more families with games and singing from local groups and choirs.

“We have really enjoyed supporting the charity, with it being just around the corner from our Staplehurst Centre and offering such a vital service. It has really focused our minds on raising as much as possible.”

The Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance Trust runs two aircraft – one from their Marden base in daylight hours, and the other from their Redhill base 24 hours a day.

The service means residents of the three counties are no more than 20 minutes away from potentially life-saving care.
