Roll up to try bowls at Angel open weekend in Tonbridge

ANGEL Indoor Bowls Club in Tonbridge is holding an open weekend on September 7-8 and is inviting the public to try this inclusive sport.

Indoor bowls is a vibrant, up-and-coming sport which is being taken up by younger people.

The age of members ranges from eight to over 90, both male and female. There are leagues involving men’s, women’s and mixed teams.

Centre manager Mark Hutcheon said: “I’ve never known a sport like it that allows all abilities and ages to play together.

“The Angel is a warm and hospitable club, there’s always somebody to chat to.

“Why not come in and have a go, talk to us about membership and see if it might suit you?

There is an active social club with regular entertainment, quiz nights and a cribbage group.

With bar and restaurant facilities, the club’s central location behind Sainsbury’s in Avenue du Puy make it an ideal meeting pl.

The annual open weekend runs on Saturday and Sunday, September 7-8 from 11am to 5pm. Details can be found
