A pupil from Tonbridge School has designed a winning entry for a Robot Wars competition that takes place at the University of Greenwich.

Edward Barry was among a select group of entries from schools across the county that developed entries for the machine warfare event taking place on September 23.

The project was started as an engineering skills showcase, with winning entries gaining £400 each for their robots.

Professor Simeon Keates, Deputy Pro Vice-Chancellor, Faculty of Engineering & Science at the University of Greenwich, said: “Robot Wars is incredible fun and inspirational. It really shows how cool engineering is.

Our aim was to help young designers create robots to win or crash out in the most spectacular ways imaginable.”
