More than 100 people with learning and physical difficulties enjoyed the annual Tonbridge Lions It’s a Knockout fun day at the Angel Centre at the weekend.
A total of 11 groups, including carers, took part in the event, which included everything from speed tests through to manual dexterity challenges.
The Horizon Project in Tonbridge emerged as the winning team, with Broomhill Bank School in Tunbridge Wells taking second place in the contest.
As part of the event, held on Friday, which has been staged since the early 1990’s, teams also designed giant Joker playing cards. The Mayor of Tonbridge & Malling, Cllr Mark Rhodes, judged entries with Lions President James Lark and his wife Jill.
The winning card came from the Scotts Project Trust in Tonbridge, with its colourful entry representing The Queen in a tribute to mark her 90th birthday.
Bob Maddison, the Lions member who chaired the fun day’s organising committee, was pleased that the day proved to be such a huge success.
He said: “We are extremely pleased with the way the day went and an enjoyable time was had by all. We would like to thank all those who took part and made it such a fun day and also the Angel Centre for their assistance in setting up the event.”
