Push the boat out with Tonbridge Town Sailing Club's free Open Day
NATURAL APPEAL: Tonbridge Town Sailing Club is based in the picturesque Haysden Country Park

The event is part of a nationwide programme being offered by the Royal Yachting Association (RYA).

Keith Minster, the club’s Commodore, said: “We’re inviting the community to come down to have a go at sailing and see what our club has to offer.

“Dinghy sailing is a fun, growing sport. Whether you’re completely new to sailing, hoping to sail more regularly or even to get back on the water – men, women, young people and families can find out more about it at this free event.”

He added: “Situated inland within a picturesque nature reserve at Haysden, Tonbridge Town Sailing Club is a small, family-friendly club with a big heart and welcome for all.

“Sailing is a sport that can be enjoyed for pleasure at your own pace: single-handed, with a crew or the whole family.

“Or it can be highly competitive in the local racing scene, national or Olympic level. Come along and see for yourself!”

Members will be on hand to take the public out on the water and provide information on all other aspects of the club such as racing and social activities.

This year the club is introducing an Open Day special offer membership package.

Tonbridge Town Sailing Club is an RYA Training Centre, with a dedicated team of instructors for adult and youth courses and a thriving Junior Club.

Booking for the Open Day is not required, but enquiries are welcomed through their website at tonbridgesailing.org or by emailing contact.TTSC@gmail.com
