Nominate your champion of environment in Tonbridge

The scheme, which is now in its 10th year, was launched to encourage people to make an extra effort to improve the environment.

It is open to all Tonbridge & Malling residents and anyone can nominate an individual or group. The awards are supported by Veolia.

Previous winners include litter picking, working as a Street Monitor or River Warden, helping with Farmers’ Markets, taking part in community days and organising events to raise awareness of environmental issues.

Cllr David Lettington, Cabinet Member for Street Scene and Environment Services says: “It is always a great pleasure to honour those who put in such great efforts to help keep our borough clean and tidy.

“I’m looking forward to finding out about the environmental achievements of this year’s nominees.”

The deadline for submitting nominations is Friday [December 14]. Nomination forms are available online attmbc.gov.uk/ECA2019 or by emailing lovewhereyoulive@tmbc.gov.uk.

The winners will receive their awards at a special ceremony hosted by the Mayor of Tonbridge & Malling at Tonbridge Castle on February 13.
