Lost in Kent? You’re on the right lines

A TUNBRIDGE WELLS mother has created a Tube-style map to show Kent’s road network.

Jessie Wilson, 38, a former demographer and market researcher, created the artwork as a Christmas present for her mother Pat Wilson.

She said: “I’ve been giving my mum homemade presents since I was a child – something I probably should have grown out of by now.”

Jessie, who founded the website Institute of Mums, posted the map on social media. After it created a lot of interest she is now selling prints for £25 at www.kentlines.com. They can be customised to incorporate additional towns and villages.

The pastiche is based on the iconic London underground map by Harry Beck, with the lines loosely following Kent’s main road networks ‘with a little artistic licence along the way’.

Grandma Pat herself achieved popularity on social media with a collection of knitted dolls of politicians that she created for the 2015 General Election.
