George Murrell, 21, died after the structure fell on him at John Foster & Son at Fishponds Farm in Upper Hayesden Lane on April 30.
Senior coroner Roger Hatch ordered an inquest to take place before a jury in June 2020; it is expected to last three days.
The Health and Safety Executive [HSE] is investigating the incident and John Foster has requested to give evidence.
A fundraising page was set up on Justgiving in his memory, which has raised more than £3,000 for the charity Rennie Grove Hospice Care.
One tribute said: “He had an idyllic childhood on the farm and had turned into an amazing, genuine, kind young man.”
Mr Murrell, who studied at Plumpton College in Lewes, grew up in Tring, Hertfordshire and played for the local rugby club for 10 years.
The club said: “He was a lovely, smiley boy who grew up into a smashing young man working his way through life doing what he loved, farming.”
