Hospice receives everything on its Christmas list – and more…

Tonbridge company Status Appointments is celebrating with the Hospice in the Weald this Christmas after helping to fulfil their wishlist.

The recruitment firm appealed to all its clients to make donations to the hospice in Pembury – and received three times more donations than were needed.

As well as helping to pay for Christmas dinners for patients at the Hospice, the clients donated presents, mince pies and mulled wine.

Managing Consultant Lucy Smith said: “We’ve always done charity stuff, but this year we wanted to do something different and do a local charity.

“We approached Hospice in the Weald, who asked us to help them with their wish list for Christmas Day,” she added.

“People were really willing to give, we got a lot more than we needed. We were asked for six boxes of mince pies but we got 20 in the end.”

The original list was worth £106 but they ended up with £300 worth of goods. She said it tended to be the small family run companies that donated.
