Good progress in high-rise check-up

THE Kent Fire & Rescue Service [KRFS] is on to the second stage of a programme of visits to reassure residents living in high-rise properties in the wak of the Grenfell Tower tragedy in June.
The service has completed visits to all of the residential buildings of ten fl oors or above in the county to carry out routine fi re safety inspections and review firefighting plans for each building.
It expects to have completed visits to residential blocks of six floors and above by mid-August.
Each visit has been conducted by members of KFRS operational crews, alongside specialists from the community and business safety teams.
In the next phase, KFRS will continue this work with non-residential high-rise premises.
