Two men have been prosecuted by Tonbridge & Malling Borough Council in separate cases of fly-tipping.

Joseph Paul Busby, aged 30, from Crown Acres in East Peckham, pleaded guilty to illegally dumping a large amount of broken doors and windows, broken glass and plastic sheeting.

Sevenoaks Magistrates Court heard that Busby, who is the owner of Superior Windows and Doors Ltd in East Peckham, had used a third party last August in order to dispose of the company’s waste without checking to see if they had a waste carrier’s licence.

There was a further fly-tipping incident at Postern Lane in Tonbridge.

Busby was fined £750 for each offence and ordered to pay costs of £1,167.50, and compensation of £243.74 to cover clean-up costs.

In a separate case, Ross Mills, aged 30, of Pennington Road, Southborough, pleaded guilty at Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court to one charge of fly-tipping.

This related to an incident at Fartherwell Road, West Malling last August. Mills was fined £750 and ordered to pay costs of £942. He was also ordered to pay compensation of £110 to cover the clean-up costs.
