ellenor's Fire and Ice challenges are hot ticket for cool customers

HOT on the heels of the success of its Fire Walk and Chilli Dip over the last seven years, the children’s hospice charity ellenor is unleashing a double temperature challenge, Fire and Ice.

This fundraiser, which involves walking across hot coals and then swimming in an outdoor pool, will be held on Friday February 16 at Royal Victoria Place in Tunbridge Wells from 7pm, and then at St Julians Club in Sevenoaks the following day from 11am.

ellenor is the only charity in Kent to provide children’s hospice care in the home.

All care is provided to patients facing terminal illness up to 16 years of age free of charge.

DEEP CHILL St Julians hosts the hardy swimmers

Emma Bowles, ellenor’s Events Fundraiser, said: “This year we are extremely excited to be taking the Fire Walk to a brand new venue, and we are thrilled to be returning to St Julians for another chilly dip.”

She added: “The Fire Walk and Chilli Dip have both raised an incredible £26,000 for families facing terminal illness over the last seven years, and we hope 2018 will be our biggest yet.”

Entrants will receive full training and a safety talk, which will take place 15 minutes before both challenges. Fire walkers will receive refreshments and all swimmers will be offered a bowl of chilli.

Registration costs £15 for each event, or £20 if you sign up for both. For more information, call 01474 320007 or visit https://ellenor.org/events
