Dreadlock Bank Holiday as 10cc play Gig for Life

ROCK legends 10cc will headline Gig for Life, the one-day family music festival at the Hop Farm on May 27.

The inaugural event is hoping to attract 10,000 people on the late May Bank Holiday and is raising money for Cancer Research UK.

The purveyors of No 1 hits such as Rubber Bullets, I’m Not In Love and Dreadlock Holiday will be joined by Brit Award nominee Maverick Sabre, the soul singer and rapper.

Alternative rockers Toploader and Americana group Los Pacaminos featuring Paul Young – of Wherever I Lay My Hat fame – will also be performing.

They will be joined by a number of local bands including The Standard Lamps and the folky, harmonious Arcelia.

Event Director David Rivers said: “I’m absolutely thrilled10cc is headlining Gig for Life. Their music, like the festival, is all about having fun together.

“We’ve got a stonking good line-up which covers all musical tastes. It’s a family festival with something for everyone and we hope it will create some wonderful memories.”

Sharon Baldwin, the charity’s fundraising manager for Kent, said: “Gig for Life is a fantastic opportunity for everyone to enjoy a one-day family festival on their own doorstep. Buy your tickets now, the money raised is vital, it could be life-saving.”

Tickets are on sale online at www.gigforlife.co.uk with a limited number at 10 per cent discount available.
