A MUM who started knitting and selling bobble hats when she gave up smoking has been endorsed by former Dragons’ Den star Theo Paphitis.
Janet Fullalove-Jones, 39, turned her crochet hobby into successful brand FullaBeanies from her Rusthall home and now supplies the headgear to Hever Castle, Notcutts Garden
Centre and the National Trust.
The mother of two, who also trades online, received a huge boost by being named one of the winners of business mogul Paphitis’s regular Small Business Sunday Twitter competition.
The retail magnet offers upcoming brands the chance to gain online exposure and invitations to events and conferences to anyone who Tweets ‘#SBS’ at the end of each weekend.
FullaBeanies was one of six small firms endorsed by the star on September 3 after several attempts to catch the eye of the business elite. Mrs Fullalove-Jones said: “It has
been a big boost, I have been trying to be endorsed for a year.
“As soon as I say his name to anyone they instantly listen. I have now been allowed access to exclusives on his website and I am going to meet him at a conference.” Since starting the business, Mrs Fullalove-Jones has taken on an additional three staff, who are
also mothers.
