Dolly and Elton storm the castle at Tonbridge Music Weekend

Friday night saw Sarah Jayne take the stage with Dolly Parton and the Country Superstars.

And on Saturday night The Rocket Man, Jimmy Love’s Elton John tribute band, was supported by Stayin’ Alive UK playing the Bee Gees.

Sunday’s acts were put on by local impresarios Hannah Rotchell and Oliver Tourle.

They featured a Princesses’ Picnic followed by West End leading ladies performing musical theatre, with Kerry Ellis headlining.

The picnic, which was hosted by Disney princesses in costume, proved a massive draw with more than 1,300 attending.

Andy Brett (pictured below with Jimmy Love), who has organised the Weekend since it began in 2013, said: “It was probably the best in terms of total numbers.”

He was delighted with the first Country and Western evening he has staged.

“I decide what type of music will go down well given what has come before but I try not to repeat, and that one was very successful.”
