SIX members of staff at Tunbridge Wells-based law firm CooperBurnett are undertaking a marathon 26-mile walk next month to raise money for the hospice charity ellenor.
The Walkathon challenge on Sunday July 2 involves trekking from Tower Bridge back ellenor’s adult hospice in Gravesend.
ellenor is known for providing hospice care to children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions in the comfort of their own home.Â
When ellenor was CooperBurnett’s charity of choice, the company raised more than £15,000.
“I should probably commit to doing a bit more training,” said Victoria Sampson, ellenor’s ambassador.Â
“But I am hopeful that, by applying ‘mind over matter’ I will complete the walk.
“I am so inspired by the vital work which ellenor does – so I am hoping that will encourage me along the way.”
Hayley Brown, Events Manager at ellenor, said: “This is a hugely popular fundraiser for our charity, and we are expecting 100 people to take part this year.Â
“The funds raised will make a huge difference to families facing terminal illness across Kent. In the Tunbridge Wells area all our children’s hospice care is provided in the sanctuary of the family home.”
