The National League South club’s Longmead Stadium is close to the church in Darenth Avenue, and its Lead Minister, Neil Durling, has been the club’s Chaplain for seven years.
The church is already involved in events at the ground, such as the popular Sunday Funday, and will now make greater use of the facilities and hospitality for events and meetings. In return, the church will help to finance the club, particularly in assisting with the upkeep of the pitch itself.
Angels Chairman Dave Netherstreet said: “I’m very pleased that as near neighbours our two organisations have come together on a more formal basis.”
An anonymous donation was made to the church to allow the relationship to develop in the joint pursuit of serving the community.
Neil said: “As a church we are delighted to receive this anonymous gift and astounded by the generosity of the giver.”
