ARTS charity Applause Rural Touring is looking for new recruits to join the creative company and take it forward into the next phase of its development.
Applause, which is based in Southborough, works with rural communities across Kent and Sussex to offer access to the arts and live performance.
The organisation recently received an award of £450,000 from The Arts Council England to develop ‘Inn Crowd’, a trailblazing project for rural pubs.
This gives communities without easy access to cultural activities in major towns the chance to come together in their local to enjoy an evening of entertainment.
Working with a largely voluntary network of promoters, Applause has 18 years’ experience of providing touring professional artists in village halls, community centres, schools and summer fetes in Kent and Sussex.
It has a number of flexible paid roles on offer and is interested in meeting people with a broad range of skills and interests such as community engagement, interest in the arts and experience of marketing and social media.
Dawn Badland, Applause Director, said: “We want to meet people who are excited about what we do and want to work with us.
“We think it is important to find individuals who can share our ambitions at this exciting time of growth for the organization.”
It is hosting two open events for people to meet the team and find out more about what Applause does. If you are interested, visit the office at 2 Speldhurst Road, Southborough on Saturday May 20 from 11am-1pm or Wednesday May 24 from 5-7pm.
