Rugby: Tunbridge Wells' juniors follow in the footsteps of England heroes

TUNBRIDGE WELLS Rugby Club’s juniors were among the 14 schools and clubs who had the chance to play at Twickenham in the Quilter Kids First training day last month.

More than 200 young players took part and were coached by former England internationals Jason Robinson, Danielle Waterman, David Flatman and Ugo Monye.

They were also taken through the match-day routine of the England players – and even sung the national anthem standing on the pitch.

Laurence Taylor, Tunbridge Wells’ Youth Chairman, said: ‘This was a fantastic experience for the children to follow in the footsteps of their England Rugby idols and play on the turf at Twickenham.

‘They got to tour the changing rooms, having arrived on the team bus, run on to the pitch and sing the anthem followed by a training session and press conference. I am sure it is a day they will remember for a long time.’
