Hockey: Tunbridge Wells get their reward against Crostyx

TUNBRIDGE WELLS Ladies’ player of the match Gigi Barker found the equaliser to ensure her side came away with a deserved point in East Region Division One South at Kent College.

Wells got off to a strong start, transferring the ball quickly around the back .

But Croystx matched the intensity of the hosts, penetrating the Wells circle repeatedly.

The home defence stood strong, however, to keep a clean sheet as the evenly matched sides went in at half-time 0-0.

The second period saw the visitors becoming more dominant on the ball, and they broke the deadlock with quick attacking play.

Pushing for an equaliser, Wells worked hard to regain possession of the ball and after a flurry of shots on target, they won a penalty stroke.

Barker added to a fine individual performance with a well-placed stroke rifling into the top corner to ensure the game finished level.

Wells Ladies now travel to Blueharts in Hitchen, Hertfordshire on Saturday [March 9, 12pm start].
