FLYING START: 18-year-old Torin Henderson (centre) is crowned winner at Wivelsfield

Teenage sensation Torin Henderson won the South East Road Race League category 3/4 race held on the Wivelsfield circuit in East Sussex.

Henderson, 18, was up against a competitive field of 50 riders and won with a dominant sprint, hitting the front from a long way out.

Fellow SDW rider Simon Miller also finished the race within the main group.

In the Sussex Cycle Racing League held at Preston Park in Brighton, Przemek Jersz finished 10th in the category 2/3 race, and Charles Dennison 14th in category 4.

More than 40 riders took part in the club’s annual reliability ride, aiming to complete either a 40 or 60-mile route across the Weald of Kent.

Will Hayward and Anthony Goebel completed the 60-mile route in three and a half hours.
