Getting engaged and then planning a wedding is one of the most exciting times of anyone’s life and finding the perfect wedding venue is the first step in ensuring you have your dream wedding. Because of the importance of finding the right venue for your wedding, we have listed some key questions asked by bridal parties…

 

Is there onsite accommodation?

One of the main considerations when choosing a wedding venue should be where will the bride, groom and guests stay both before and after the wedding.

 

How much parking is there at the venue?

Many of your wedding guests will likely travel some distance to get to your venue so making sure your wedding venue has plenty of onsite parking is a key question to ask.

 

What transport links are nearby?

Know what transport links are nearby and whether the venue has anything in place such as links with a local, reliable taxi companies.

 

Does the venue offer a complimentary tasting?

It is definitely worth asking if the venue offers a complimentary tasting. You should also find out if it sources its produce from reputable local suppliers and if you can bring in your own caterers.

 

Does the venue have a dedicated wedding planner?

A wedding can be a time consuming and stressful event so a good wedding planner will help take much of the stress away…

 

What is the venue capacity?

This is a key consideration, and the venue clearly needs to be able to accommodate the number of weddings guests you want to invite.

 

How late does the venue stay open until and what are the restrictions?

You need to think about this when booking your venue as you may want to party on late.

 

Does your venue hold multiple weddings on the same day?

This is a really important question – especially if you don’t want to bump into another bride in the bathroom.

 

What is the payment schedule?

Budgeting for a wedding can be an onerous task, and however you do it you are probably going to have a list somewhere of all your payments and when they are due so you’re able to make sure you don’t run out of money.

 

Is your venue insured?

Last but not least this is a crucial consideration. Most venues who regularly hold weddings should have Public Liability Insurance but it is worth double checking.

 

Some advice for couples planning their dream wedding

  • Enjoy the planning process, and make it fun, it then feels so much more than just one day
  • Invite the people you want to invite! Not the people you are expected to invite. You want to be surrounded by the people you love the most
  • Consider setting up a website. It’s a great way to communicate with your guests in the lead up to your wedding
  • Meet with your suppliers before booking them. It’s important to have a good rapport with them. This is especially the case when it comes to sourcing the photographer, videographer, hair and make-up artist etc
  • Take some time out during your wedding day to really take everything in, and to spend some time together just the two of you as it goes so quickly
