Taste the difference

Celebrated chef Robin Read launched his new pop-up restaurant The Counter at Daily Bread in Rusthall on October 20. Open every Thursday to Saturday evening until December 24, each dinner service will offer guests a seasonal six-course tasting menu using the best local, wild and foraged produce.

During his career Robin has worked for some of the culinary greats including Albert and Michel Roux, Nico Ladenis and Marco Pierre White. And for the past 16 years he has been Group Executive Chef of the Firmdale Hotel Group in London, overseeing the adventurous menus at the Soho Hotel, Charlotte Street Hotel and Ham Yard Hotel.

And now the Langton Green-based chef is bringing a taste of his signature dishes, which are inspired by local products and the seasons, to the people of Rusthall, Tunbridge Wells and beyond.

A passionate supporter of artisan farmers, growers and producers, Robin’s menu at The Counter includes delicious delicacies such as venison from Eridge Park and wild porcini mushrooms from the woods around Rusthall and Langton Green.

Menus start from £60 per person. For more information and to book visit www.thecounterhomeedition.com
