EARLY FESTIVE FUN: A Christmas tree appeared on The Pantiles last month

But it wasn’t the town getting festive four months too early. The Pantiles was transformed for the filming of a Christmas advert for the online retail firm Very.

On Twitter, one resident called Debs expressed her shock by saying: “You’ve got to be kidding me! They’re puttng a Christmas tree up!”

She later Tweeted: “OK, stand down everyone. Apparently they’re just filming the Very Christmas ad!”

Before the filming, the Tunbridge Wells & Rusthall Commons Conservators posted an alert on Facebook: “Please be aware of a huge number of vehicles, trucks, catering vans and welfare vans using the car park on Major York’s Road (Fairground to lots of us!) tomorrow (Saturday 18th September). They are associated with the filming of a commercial on the Pantiles.”
