St George’s nursery is celebrating its ‘Outstanding’ status following a recent Ofsted inspection.

The report also noted that the children there are ‘friendly, sociable and kind’ and that ‘all develop extraordinary maturity and confidence as they play and are exceptionally well-prepared for their future learning.’

Ofsted inspectors visited the nursery facility at the St George’s Community Children’s Project, which also offers a pre-school, after school and holiday club, in April and awarded it its highest rating.

This now means that St George’s is in the top 17% of childcare providers in the UK.

Over the past year it has undergone considerable structural improvements which has created a spacious and safe environment for children.

These recent developments, as well as the organisational changes that have occurred to ensure the project is run more efficiently, were also noted by Ofsted’s repesentatives.

Morgane Glew, Business Manager at St George’s, said: “Our fundamental goal is to ensure that we create the best possible environment in which children can flourish and naturally love learning for the rest of their life.”

St George’s has been established since 1982, em-ploys 52 staff and can provide for up to 90 children. It also operates as a charity which enables it to extend its services and provide places for vulnerable children through a series of fundraising events and donations.
