Rainbow road

What a week for changes in our weather. Yesterday (Tuesday) saw the temperature in Tunbridge Wells nudging 90°F making it hotter than Beirut. And yet a week earlier residents were looking into the sky admiring this double rainbow arching over the town.

Social media was inundated with spectacular shots of the natural phenomenon, which is produced by a second reflection of light inside water droplets, which exits the drop at a different angle to the light of the first rainbow.

This panoramic photo was taken on the Common early evening by Mark Roe on Tuesday July 12
