The changing face of our local landscape

Tunbridge Wells Borough Council is holding a series of workshops where residents will be invited to discuss the local landscape.

To help protect and enhance the borough’s landscape, the council is seeking a detailed and up-to-date understanding of its character, what changes are occurring and why, what people value about it, and what the priorities should be for the future.

The existing Landscape Character Area Assessment is based on studies carried out in 2000 and needs updating to reflect the changes since then.

The findings of the study will be used to influence planning policy and guide decision-making on future enhancement projects.

The three workshops will be spread across the borough to focus on particular regions:

Eastern borough:
Goudhurst Parish Hall, Balcombes Hill, Goudhurst TN17 1AJ. Wednesday September 28:
5-6pm drop-in session, 6-7pm workshop.

Central borough:
Brenchley Memorial Hall, Brenchley Road, Brenchley TN12 7NX. Wednesday October 5:
4.30-6pm drop-in session, 6-7pm workshop.

Western borough:
Langton Green Village Hall, Speldhurst Road, Langton Green TN3 0JJ. Tuesday October 11:
4.30-6pm drop-in session, 6-7pm workshop.
