Teenager plays in the ‘greatest orchestra’

A budding musician from Tunbridge Wells has spoken of her ‘excitement’ at being selected to perform in the National Youth Orchestra for the second year running.

Olivia Ziani, will be playing her violin alongside 162 other youngsters from all of the UK in what is widely regarded as one of the greatest orchestras for teenagers in the world.

The 16-year-old, who attends the Purcell School for Young Musicians said: “I’m really excited to be part of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain because I love to play in an orchestra of this calibre with like-minded musicians.

“I will be playing in the best concert halls in the UK to show other teenagers what we do and to inspire them in our projects in schools.”
