Sinkhole causes road closure in Tunbridge Wells

The Mead School in Tunbridge Wells gave a professional level performance in the ISA drama contests

Commuters are being advised to allow extra time to their journeys around Tunbridge Wells, after Bayham Road was closed following a sinkhole opening up.

The hole, in the centre of the carriageway between Frant Road and Forest Road is currently being fixed by Kent Highways, but the road remains closed until the work has been completed, and a diversion is in place.

Motorists are being advised to expect delays until the road reopens.

The weekend’s hot weather is thought to be to blame for a series of sinkholes and other voids in roads across the county.
