A RESTAURANT in Tunbridge Wells is hosting a free garden party on Friday for those of us stuck in Blighty and hankering after some summer sun.

Jean’s Kitchen and Wine Bar on St John’s Road is celebrating the launch of their luxury outside space with an evening of free canapés and drinks including Pimm’s and Proseeco from 5pm.

The eaterie’s tucked-away oasis is already becoming popular with wannabe sun-seekers wanting to escape the 9 to 5 drudgery with a mood-boosting bite or those needing a luxurious hideaway to soothe away summer hangovers.

Owner Garry Jeffery launched his family-run business on a cold Winter’s day in January and is now flinging open its doors for the good-old fashioned garden party to show off all it has to offer.

As well as a luxuriously spacious terrace and sleek overhanging balcony with 70 comfortable seats and table service, the restaurant also boasts a koi fish pond at its centre and a sumptuous newly-launched Summer Menu.

As well as a range of healthy dishes including salads and wraps, the line-up includes six varieties of the famous Jeans burger – already legendary in the town despite the restaurant opening barely six months ago.

Owner Garry said of the Jean’s garden party: “There’s so much to enjoy here whether it be inside the restaurant, relaxing in our luxurious bar upstairs or out on the Jean’s terrace on a summer’s evening – come and join us for our garden party to take a look for yourself.

“We would love to see old faces, new faces – people who want to see what we’re about…there’s tasty canapés and a glass of Pimm’s, Prosecco or bottle of beer on the house for everyone on arrival to get into the summer spirit!”
