Post-graduate taster courses on offer at University of Kent

Five reasons why this Kent town is in the UK's top 20

Students considering literature, art history or creative writing as subjects for further study can join post-graduate taster courses at the University of Kent next month.

The part-time specialist centre in Tonbridge will host the courses consecutively, allowing students to attend all three should they wish, from January 20.

Esther van Hout, who manages the centre, said:

“These new postgraduate taster courses are designed for anyone with a passion and motivation to develop their knowledge at an advanced level.

“There are no formal entry qualifications and as they are non-accredited they can be studied for pleasure or prior to applying for a postgraduate qualification programme.

“Kent is renowned for its teaching style – our academics have an outstanding ability to pass on their passion and are approachable and accessible for any questions you want answered. “Correspondingly, Tonbridge students come from a wide variety of backgrounds but are united by a desire to extend their knowledge within an informal, friendly group. To support students the centre will also be running study skill sessions so that you can brush up on, or acquire, writing, referencing and library skills.”

The centre will also be running its ‘extremely popular’ short course programme again from January, including new subjects such as film studies, meditation and philosophy as well as existing topics such as music and psychology.
