Paddock Wood art gallery set to close

One Warwick Park 2

The Mascalls Art Gallery is due to close after nearly ten years of exhibitions, it has been announced.

Founded in 2006 the gallery, which is based at Mascalls School, has served as one of the main cultural hubs of Paddock Wood.

Curator Rebecca Hone said: “Over the last ten years, Mascalls Gallery has produced almost 50 exhibitions, and brought not only internationally renowned artists to rural Kent, but also the work of undeservedly less well-known artists. It is with sadness that I have to tell you that the gallery will be closing to the public on June 25.

“Mascalls School, now Academy, have been incredibly generous in their support of the gallery over the last 10 years but understandably priorities here have shifted, as they have nationally.”
