After many years meeting at Nutley Village Hall, the Ashdown Forest Decorative and Fine Arts Society will move their 2016-17 lecture programme to Crowborough Community Centre.
The society works to advance decorative and fine arts education and appreciation, while promoting the conservation of our artistic heritage.
It will host monthly lectures by experts in their field of interest, and this season they will cover topics such as the art at the Lansdowne Club, the cover designs of Faber & Faber and the work of designer Thomas Heatherwick of Olympic cauldron fame.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for our society to join the vibrant arts community in Crowborough, and to meet new members who may not have been able to reach us in our previous home,” said Joint Chair Mrs Julia Stitt.
The society is a member of The National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts Societies (NADFAS).
The first meeting in Crowborough will be held on Thursday October 13 at 2pm, when Martin Lloyd will talk about Secret Art in the Passport: How we use it to fox the forger.
