New commuter coach route gives Knights Wood residents a direct link to the City

Residents of Dandara’s Knights Wood development in Tunbridge Wells can now enjoy an almost door-to-door coach commute to London, following the launch of Centaur’s new 793 Flyer service.

Centaur’s new route offers two weekday peak time pick-ups from Knights Wood, at 6.24am and 6.59am. The service continues to Tonbridge before running fast to Canary Wharf, arriving at 7.34am and 8.09am respectively, then continues into Central London.

With an annual fare of £2,917 (from any stop), compared to an annual train season ticket of £4,580 from High Brooms (£5,232 including Underground travel), the Centaur service offers a cheaper alternative to the train, plus a guaranteed seat too.

Speaking of the new service, Patrick Denton, Dandara Senior Sales Consultant said, ‘Knights Wood is already very popular with young professionals, many of whom commute to London. This new service increases their options and avoids the need to travel to High Brooms or Tunbridge Wells stations to catch a train, which for many will be a real bonus.’

Patrick Sims, Centaur’s Transport Manager said, ‘We are delighted to extend our service to the residents of Knights Wood. Generally, we can collect passengers very close to their front door and drop them off closer to their place of work, which we hope will be an attractive proposition. With door-to-door travel times of around one hour 10 minutes from Knights Wood to Canary Wharf and one hour 30 minutes to London Bridge, we believe this is a genuine alternative to the train.’
