A 48-year-old man is to be retried after a murder trial jury failed to reach a verdict.

After two days of deliberations into the knife killing of James Wallington, the judge told the panel that no further progress was going to be made in its decision.

Paddock Wood man David Squelch, of Maidstone Road, was charged with the murder of James Wallington, 44, from Somerset Road, Tunbridge Wells.

He died in a knife attack after arriving for work at Cory Environmental Recycling Centre in Tunbridge Wells in March this year.

Squelch denied murder at Canterbury Crown Court.

A retrial is fixed for March 14, 2016.
