Man charged over Torrington car park murder - victim died as a result of fire

A 34-year-old man has been charged with murder following the death of a man in Tunbridge Wells.

Dean Lewis of no fixed address will appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court by video link on Friday March 10, 2017.

A second man who was also arrested has been released without charge.

The victim, believed to be a man in his forties, was found during the early hours of Tuesday March 7, 2017 after police were called to a stairway on the first floor of the Torrington Road car park, by Kent Fire and Rescue Service.

Provisional post-mortem results indicate that the man died as a result of the effects of a fire. Formal identification is expected to take place within one to two weeks.
