Man arrested over Tunbridge Wells ‘graffiti incidents’

Police watchdog warns of 'worrying' trend

A 23-year-old man has been arrested in connection to a number of graffiti incidents reported in Tunbridge Wells.

Kent Police said the unnamed man was taken into custody on Saturday [May 12] after being arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage.

This follows a number of reports to the force about graffiti in Tunbridge Wells over the past two months.

A spokesman from the force said: ‘Kent Police was called at 12.05am on Saturday 12 May 2018 to reports of suspicious behaviour at a bus stop in St John’s Road.

‘Patrols attended and following a search of the area stopped a man in Grosvenor Road. Spray paint was also seized.

‘The man was later released pending further investigation.’
