Lions out on the prowl to make hampers for elderly

The Southborough and District Lions Club have begun their annual door-to-door Christmas collections in the local area for the 35th year.

The charitable organisation will be visiting Southborough, High Brooms, Pembury, Langton Green and Tunbridge Wells over nine evenings during the festive period.

Father Christmas accompanied the collectors on a colourful and sparkling sleigh for their first outing in the Pennington Road area of Southborough, handing out gifts to children on the route.

The first evening on December 5 raised of £385 which will go towards assembling 84 Christmas food hampers for elderly residents and others who are considered deserving.
