Five pupils from Holmewood House school are celebrating winning the Team Trophy at the Independent Association of Prep Schools (IAPS) National Judo Championships, which took place on May 14 in High Wycombe.

The competitors were George Jobber, who won gold in the 34kg weight category after winning all five of his contests; Thomas Pateman, who gained silver in the 30kg division; Felix Worth and Takita Dicker, who took silver and bronze respectively in the 30kg sector; and Hamish Taylor, who was placed seventh in the 38kg weight division.

These impressive results cumulatively led to the pupils, who are aged between seven and ten, winning the group competition.

Their coach, Ryan Court, said: “I’m very proud of the boys and hope that these results could be the platform to create a strong team for next year’s competitions.

“Four medals from five competitors is absolutely tremendous, they were a credit to themselves and Holmewood House.”
