John Lewis in Tunbridge Wells is to close

John Lewis at home’s Tunbridge Wells store is taking on their rivals at Ashford in a football match to raise funds for local charity Chasing Connor’s Cure.

Five-year-old Connor, from Hildenborough, was recently diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy – a fatal disease that attacks the lungs and heart.

There is currently no cure, but all funds raised will help towards continued research.

Chasing Connor’s Cure has been chosen as John Lewis at home Tunbridge Wells’ charity of the year.

The match will be held at Maidstone United’s Gallagher Stadium on Friday October 7 from 7pm. Entrance is £5 for adults (children free) and includes a free raffle ticket. There will be a bar and a pie ‘n’ mash van.

Jayson Pring, Section Manager at John Lewis at home Tunbridge Wells, said: “Football matches are great social occasions and I am hoping that many families will cheer us on so we can raise much needed funds for Chasing Connor’s Cure.”
