Council says goodbye to former Mayor
Len Price

Len Price was Mayor in 2009-10. After his retirement from the Council, he moved to France with his daughter, where he died in October 2020, peacefully in hospital after a short illness.

Councillor Price was ward member for Culverden from 1998 until he retired from the Council in 2014.

During that time, he served as Chairman of the Audit Committee and Vice Chairman of both the General Purposes and the Overview and Scrutiny Committees. Cllr Price also served as a Kent County Councillor for 12 years.

Council Leader Alan McDermott said: “My sympathies go to Len’s family. He was someone who always worked hard for the borough and the residents of his ward, and his election as Mayor in 2009 was a fitting recognition of this.”

During his year of office as Mayor of Tunbridge Wells Cllr Price promoted and supported two local charities, The Pickering Cancer Drop-in Centre, and The Tunbridge Wells Multiple Sclerosis Society.
