Tunbridge Wells Round Table member Andrew Mockford said the organising group are “upping their game.”
“We made in excess of £40,000 last year, and we gave nearly all of it away to local charities. We see the event as giving something back to the community, and over the years we have raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for good causes.
“It is great to be able to put on an event such as this and be part of it.”
The night [Saturday, November 4] begins at 5.30pm with fairground rides and street food before the 25 minute firework display gets underway at 7pm.
Mr Mockford (33) has been involved in the event since the age of seven when he helped out by selling programmes.
“We have gone all out this year and have a wall of colour where, for 30 seconds, there will be a blast of about 100 fireworks at one time.
“We are really thankful for the support of the public, without whom we could not run the event. We rely on them.
“We are always striving to improve year on year, to continue making it appealing to everyone and to ensure its continued success.”
Round Table members will divide the takings between a selection of local charities. In the past these have included St John’s Ambulance and local scout groups.
